We are very excited to share with you the progress being made on our building project.
An updated presentation from Number TEN Architectural Group has been received. These plans consider Board, Staff and Town Hall feedback. We are equally pleased to advise that the review of construction-related hard costs has been completed. The new costing submitted by Akman Construction is now estimated to be $12.1 million – only nominally higher than the previous estimate of $12 million. To review a rough cost breakout and see a campaign total of pledges to date, please review the back of the new information booklet mentioned above.
We are very close to finalizing a lease agreement for alternate synagogue space during construction and expect to be able to make an announcement before the end of March.
We anticipate having a newly projected construction start date to share you with shortly.
NEW: The Shaarey Zedek Board of Directors was advised that we are exploring the feasibility of developing daycare space for 36 toddlers in the renovated building — This will have an impact on the final design of the lower-level Lounge. We will continue to update members as developments occur.
The next member update is scheduled for Wednesday, March 30, 2022 so please watch for that. If anything is finalized before then, a special announcement will be made.
